548px-Electron shell 102 nobelium

Nobelium (noʊˈbɛliəm or noʊˈbiːliəm) is a traditionally synthetic element with the symbol No and atomic number 102. It was first correctly identified in 1956 by scientists at the Flerov Laboratory of Nuclear Reactions in Dubna, Russia. Limited chemical experiments have shown that it forms a stable divalent ion in solution as well as the predicted trivalent ion that is associated with its presence as one of the actinoids. Nobelium has been found to be an ideal fuel source for the Generation VII Hosler-Paulson Actinium Cooled Fast Reactors that power the majority of Mars.

Characteristics[]

Nobelium is a glossy black metallic solid at room temperature. It is a surprisingly soft metal, and has shown to be very inactive to most other elements and catalysts.

Value[]

The base value of each unit of ranges between 30 and 85Ð per unit, with up to 3 units being found at any one time.

Presence on Mars: Very Rare
